As well as looking after and maintaining our collection of historic wooden canal boats, much of our success depends upon a constant effort from our staff and volunteers to win grants, raise funds and keep our aims in the public eye. Yes, we need money, but we also need the help and spare time of ordinary people like you.
There are regular boat trips along the canal, as we go on recycling trips for items to sell from the shop, so if you want to help and crew, there are opportunities to do so. Some like to work in our shop, others like to work outdoors, maintaining the boats. Some like to boat sit overnight and others like to guide the museum’s visitors around our collection of boats.
